Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the websites of the scientific journals of educational science based on the international databases and citations indexing criteria to provide suggestions to improve their quality. This research is an evaluative type and has been done by scientometric method. The statistical population includes 54 websites of scientific-research journals of educational sciences. A researcher-made checklist used as a data collection tool and the checklist was completed separately for each publication. Results showed that 49% of the publications belonged to state universities, of which 32 were quarterly, 21 were bi-quarterly and one was bi-monthly. Only 2 Journals were published in English language and more than 50% of publications in this field are delayed. Following the review of the publishing system, the "Sinaweb” is the most widely used system (frequency of 38). Findings also showed that the 7 oldest publications are "Research in Islamic Education" and "Educational Sciences" and the newest is "Iranian Journal of Comparative Education”. Out of 54 journals studied, only 6 journals have the highest index, so that they are indexed in most of the surveyed databases, and two journals are indexed in the Ulrich databases. In addition, only 4 journals gained A ranking in the ISC Center studies. The websites of the educational science journals have approximately observed the indexing criteria of the database.
