The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of the Synectics teaching method on creativity and academic competence among sixth-grade elementary school students. The statistical population of this research included all sixth-grade female students in Marvdasht city who were enrolled during the 2024–2025 academic year. The sample consisted of sixth-grade female students selected through convenience sampling. In coordination with the Marvdasht Department of Education, one girls’ elementary school was selected. From this school, two classes were randomly chosen from among the sixth-grade classes. One class of 15 students was assigned to the experimental group, and another class of 15 students was randomly assigned to the control group. The experimental group received training based on the Synectics method (Moradi & Khazaei, 2017 educational package), while the control group received no intervention. Two questionnaires were administered: the Academic Competence Evaluation Scales (ACES) by DiPerna & Elliott (1999), with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.95, and the Creativity Questionnaire by Abedi (1993), with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.46. The validity of these instruments was confirmed through factor analysis and correlation with similar tests. Data were analyzed using ANCOVA.The results indicated that Synectics-based instruction had a statistically significant impact on the creativity of sixth-grade students.Furthermore, the findings showed that this method significantly improved academic competence and its subcomponents, including reading/speaking ability, mathematics, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, classroom engagement, academic motivation, and study skills..
