This study aimed to analyze the lived experiences of elementary school teachers regarding the obstacles in implementing the emerging curriculum and a solution to overcome them. For this purpose, qualitative research and phenomenological methods were used. The research population included elementary school teachers in Mashhad and the sample consisted of 15 teachers who were selected purposefully. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, and each interview lasted between 60 and 70 minutes. Data collection continued until theoretical saturation was reached. To achieve research validity, two techniques were used: long contact with the research environment and control by members. Based on the results obtained, the obstacles and solutions were placed at two micro and macro levels. At the macro level, teachers have found that implementing the emergent curriculum has been associated with obstacles such as a centralized system, lack of delegation of authority to teachers, and inappropriate teacher education policies. At the micro level, there have been obstacles such as the attitudes of school administrators and parents, inadequate facilities, and teachers' lack of scientific mastery and sense of responsibility. The findings show that decentralizing the curriculum, training committed human resources, trusting teacher abilities, enriching school-level facilities, and using blended teaching can help implement the emergent curriculum in elementary school. The emergent curriculum is, in essence, a response to today's world's need for living, dynamic, and contextualized education; but its practical realization requires rethinking the structure and philosophy of teacher education and empowerment.
