Objective: This study aimed to assess the level of familiarity and attitude of elementary school teachers in Qom, Iran, towards the application of gamification in the teaching-learning process.
Methods: The present research employed a descriptive-survey design. The statistical population consisted of all elementary school teachers in District 1 of Qom during the 2023-2024 academic year. A sample of 253 teachers was selected using convenience sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire comprising two sections measuring familiarity and attitude. Its content validity was confirmed by experts, and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.87. Data were analyzed using SPSS software through one-sample t-test, Pearson correlation, and analysis of variance (ANOVA).
Results: The findings revealed that the mean scores of teachers' familiarity and attitude were significantly lower than the average level. A positive and significant correlation was observed between familiarity and attitude. Furthermore, a negative correlation was found between years of teaching experience and both familiarity and attitude variables. Teachers with higher educational qualifications demonstrated greater familiarity; however, no significant difference in attitude was observed across different demographic groups.
Conclusion: The results indicate a significant gap in teachers' knowledge and attitude regarding gamification. This underscores the need for policymakers and educational planners to design and implement targeted professional development programs that empower teachers to utilize this innovative teaching strategy effectively.
