The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an instructional package integrating executive functions and first-grade mathematics concepts on students’ academic achievement in mathematics. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group. Sampling was conducted in two stages using a mixed method. First, Shahid 32 School in Kerman was selected through convenience sampling, and then, out of 175 students, 30 were randomly selected according to the inclusion criteria and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (15 students in each). The intervention consisted of ten instructional sessions using seventeen designed games to enhance the components of inhibition, cognitive flexibility, and working memory. The data were collected through a Mathematics Achievement Test. The findings indicated that the adjusted mean score in the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (adjusted means = 23.27 vs. 19.46). Moreover, the calculated effect size (η² = .476) revealed a large and significant impact of the intervention. These results suggest that integrating executive function training with mathematics instruction can substantially improve first-grade students’ academic achievement in mathematics.
