The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effect of professional competence and the quality of working life on the job performance of employees with the mediating role of job satisfaction. The research method was correlation through structural equation modeling. The statistical population of the research was formed by all the research experts of Tehran University (281 people), who were studied by the census method of all the statistical population, and finally 251 questionnaires were collected with a return rate of 0.89. The data collection tool was the researcher-made questionnaire of professional competence, Walton's quality of working life (1973), Hershey and Goldsmith's job performance (1981), and Minnesota's job satisfaction (1967). Their face and content validity was confirmed using experts' opinions and their Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.88, 0.83, 0.85 and 0.89 respectively. The research results showed that the research model has a good fit. Based on the research model, it was determined that professional competence has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and the job performance of research experts. Also, based on these results, the effect of the quality of working life on job satisfaction and performance was confirmed. Finally, the mediation of job satisfaction was confirmed in the relationship between professional competence and quality of working life with job performance.
