The aim of the present study was to predict the academic persistence of Qom University of Medical Sciences students based on happiness and self-efficacy. The research was conducted in a descriptive-correlational way. The statistical population of this research included all the students of Qom University of Medical Sciences in the number of 2560 people (1397 girls, 1163 boys) in the academic year of 1402-1403, of which 347 students were sampled based on the Karjesi and Morgan table and in a relative stratified manner. To collect data, the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire of Argyle et al. (1989), the General Self-Efficacy Questionnaire of Scherer (1982), and the Academic Persistence Questionnaire of Martin and Marsh (2008) were used. It has been used for data analysis and statistical tests. The analysis of findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between happiness and academic persistence (r = 0.50) and self-efficacy with academic persistence (r = 0.46) (sig < 0.01). The results of multiple regression showed that happiness and self-efficacy can predict academic persistence (F (344, 2) = 61.69, p < 0.01). The square of the multiple correlation coefficient is 2R = 0.26. This problem indicates that the predictor variables can explain 26% of the changes in the academic persistence variable. According to the results, it can be concluded that in order to increase academic sustainability, planning should be done on students' happiness and self-efficacy.
