Abstract
The aim of this study is to conduct a qualitative content analysis of the Persian textbooks for the 8th and 9th grades of middle school in the academic year 1402-1403, focusing on life skills and their educational impacts from the perspective of Islamic teachings. The research method for analyzing life skills and their educational impacts is conceptual analysis, while the method for understanding the content of the 8th and 9th grade Persian textbooks is text content analysis. After completing these two stages, the findings were compared in a comparative-interpretive study. The results of this research indicate that life skills such as self-awareness, effective social communication, emotional management, and their educational impacts, as presented in Islamic teachings, are more comprehensive, in-depth, and practical compared to the textbook content. Additionally, in religious and Islamic ethics, certain life skills, such as problem-solving skills, not only introduce solutions to life problems but also emphasize remedies for moral vices. However, in the textbooks, the treatment of moral vices has not received significant attention. Moreover, the management of negative emotions and their educational impacts have been neglected in the textbooks. The concepts of creative and critical thinking are also addressed in moral and religious teachings, along with their social impacts, whereas these social impacts are scarcely mentioned in the textbook content.
