This study investigated the effect of emotional intelligence training on online social support and social anxiety. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence training on online social support and social anxiety in undergraduate students of the Islamic Azad University of Bowanat, who were studying in the academic year of 2014-2014. The research method was a pre-test-post-test experiment with a control group. The statistical population consisted of all undergraduate students of Bowanat Islamic Azad University. Among these students, 30 people were randomly selected by multi-stage sampling method and assigned to 2 groups of 15 people (girl and boy test and girl and boy test). In order to evaluate the level of online social support and social anxiety, the social support questionnaire was used. online (Elizabeth et al., 2018) and social anxiety questionnaire (Pakek, 2004) were used. Then, the emotional intelligence training program was implemented as an experimental factor in 8 sessions of 90 minutes, 2 sessions per week for the experimental group. The results of multivariate covariance analysis showed that the students of the experimental group had higher online social support and lower social anxiety than the control group after completing the training course. Therefore, emotional intelligence training increases online social support and reduces social anxiety.
