Anxiety toward emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) systems, is an important psychological concern among today’s university users. This study aimed to validate and examine the psychometric properties of the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Questionnaire among Iranian students. The research employed a descriptive–validational design. Validation and psychometric evaluation were conducted using a sample of students from Islamic Azad University, Qom Branch, in (2025/2026). The statistical population included all students of this university, and a sample of 400 participants was selected using a convenience sampling method. The primary instrument was the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Questionnaire by Wang and Wang (2019). The questionnaire was translated into Persian using a translation–back-translation procedure, and its content validity was assessed by 10 psychology experts. Data were collected electronically. Analyses included descriptive statistics, internal consistency reliability using Cronbach’s alpha, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to evaluate construct validity using fit indices of χ2/df, CFI, TLI, and RMSEA. Data were analyzed using SPSS 27 and AMOS 24. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the model fit was acceptable: χ2/df=3.062, RMSEA = 0.05, NFI = 0.911, CFI = 0.938, and TLI = 0.929. Internal consistency reliability (Cronbach’s alpha) for the subscales ranged from 0.889 to 0.959, and for the overall questionnaire it was 0.962, indicating high reliability. the findings showed that the Persian version of the Artificial Intelligence Anxiety Questionnaire possesses suitable psychometric properties. Therefore, it can be used as a valid and reliable particularly within university settings.
